Third Suspect Arrested for Robbery and Beating of Alexandria Woman

Last night, Alexandria detectives located the third suspect wanted for the August 21 attack on a 48-year-old Alexandria woman. On Thursday, August 30, at 9 p.m., detectives located John Lester Crawley in Temple Hills, Maryland, after receiving a tip from a citizen. Prince George’s County Police arrested the suspect at a family member’s home. He is being held as a fugitive on Alexandria’s outstanding robbery warrant pending an extradition hearing.

Crawley is a 23-year-old man with no fixed address. Alexandria police had previously charged Crawley’s half-brother, Charles Anthony Gregg, and another suspect, Elvin Huggins, Jr., with Robbery for their roles in the incident. The victim, who was attacked in the 200 block of East Braddock Road, continues to recover from her injuries at Fairfax Hospital.

A photo of Crawley is available from the Public Information Office.
