Alexandria Police Investigate the Shooting of Two City Residents


Last night, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Alexandria Police responded to the intersection of Burgess Avenue and Landover Street for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered a 22-year-old and a 19-year-old, both male City residents, suffering from gun shot wounds. The victims were flown by helicopter to the Washington Hospital Center. The 22-year-old male was shot twice. His injuries are considered life threatening and he remains in critical condition. The 19-year-old male was shot once. His injuries are considered non-life threatening and he remains in stable condition.

Officers and Detectives canvassed the area for potential witnesses. A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at (703) 838-4711.
