Two Indicted in Alexandria Boy’s Murder
The father and stepmother of a 9-year-old boy killed in Alexandria in June were indicted today by an Alexandria grand jury. The father, Dale Corey Smith, Sr., had been arrested on June 27, one day after Dale Corey Smith II, was found beaten to death in the family’s apartment at 375 South Reynolds Street.
The boy’s stepmother, Kristy Anne Smith, 31, was indicted on Monday, August 6, for Child Abuse and Neglect. Smith turned herself in at police headquarters this evening and was released on a $10,000 bond.
Dale Corey Smith, Sr. was formally indicted for Murder. He has been held at the Alexandria jail without bond since his arrest.
