Alexandria Police Investigate a Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a fatal accident which occurred earlier this evening, at approximately 8:57 p.m. A man was killed while riding his motorcycle on North Beauregard Street at Sanger Avenue.

The victim, identified as Elliot Holland, was riding a 1994 Suzuki motorcycle when he apparently lost control attempting to avoid colliding with a maroon van that turned onto Sanger Avenue from southbound North Beauregard Street. The traffic signal was green for both vehicles. The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The victim, a 29-year-old Loudoun County resident, was transported to the Alexandria Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and officers have closed a portion of North Beauregard Street while they conduct their investigation. The driver of the maroon van was never identified and police would like to speak with the individual. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in this accident.
