Alexandria Police Arrest Officer for Credit Card Theft and Fraud

Following a grand jury indictment, Alexandria police have charged one of their officers, Vincent Jackson, with two counts of credit card theft and two counts of credit card fraud. Jackson was immediately suspended pending termination.

Jackson, a 31-year-old Maryland resident joined the Alexandria Police Department in July of 1998 and has worked as a patrol officer since then. While on duty in December, Jackson came in contact with the victim, a 39-year-old City woman, during a call for service. He gained access to two of her credit cards which he later used with charges totaling approximately $1200.

On Wednesday, May 16, the victim notified Alexandria police about the charges on her accounts and through investigation, detectives identified Jackson as the responsible suspect. He was suspended and relieved of his police powers on Tuesday, May 29, and indicted on Monday, June 4, by an Alexandria grand jury.

Jackson was arrested this morning at police headquarters and has since been released on a personal recognizance bond.
