The Wachovia Bank at 325 South Washington Street is Robbed

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the Wachovia located at 325 South Washington Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller counter. The suspect passed a note demanding money and the employee complied. The suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was displayed.

The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 40 years old, 5-feet 4-inches to 5-feet 7-inches tall and heavyset. She is dark complected with straight neck-length hair and was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, a yellow sun hat with a brim, dark sunglasses and was carrying a large tan pocketbook.
