Alexandria Police Investigate a Series of Residential Burglaries
Since July 7, police have investigated four residential burglaries where suspects have stolen expensive jewelry and sterling silver items worth at least $100,000. All four of the burglaries occurred during daylight hours. In three of the cases, entry was gained by force through a rear door or window. One of the burglaries occurred while the resident was at home during daylight hours.
Two burglaries occurred in the 800-900 blocks of Janneys Lane, one in the 3000 block of Dartmouth Road and one in the 300 block of Skyhill Road. In the Dartmouth burglary case, detectives believe that two individuals were working in tandem with one suspect distracting the homeowner while the second suspect entered the residence. Several items of silver and jewelry were stolen in this case. The female suspect who distracted the homeowner is described as a white female in her mid-forties, 5'4", 170 pounds, with a gold upper front tooth who spoke with a European accent. The other suspect is described as a white male, mid-forties with a receding hairline. It is also believed that these suspects may have entered a green car after committing the burglary.
