City of Alexandria Announces Schedule of Services for Veterans Day

City government offices, including the administrative offices of the Alexandria Police Department, will be open on the observed Veterans Day holiday, Friday, November 10. Full police patrol and emergency services will be in place during this day, as well as on Saturday, November 11.

However, State offices in Alexandria, including the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, the Clerk of Court Office, and the Alexandria Health Department will be closed on Friday, November 10.

In accordance with Virginia State Law, the Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits, on Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11. All other parking regulations will be in effect. Additionally, HOV restrictions on Route 1 and Washington Street will be lifted on Friday, November 10.

City facilities, including government offices, libraries, and recreation centers, will be open on Friday, November 10. Those City facilities which are usually open on Saturdays, including libraries, museums, and recreation centers, will be open on Saturday, November 11. The Treasury and Revenue Divisions of the Finance Department will be open between 9 a.m. and noon for payment of property taxes and parking tickets.

City schools will be closed on Friday, November 10.

DASH bus service will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Friday, November 10.
