Alexandria Police Investigate a Domestic-Related Fatal Stabbing


The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the homicide of a City resident. At approximately 10:30 p.m., on Friday, September 8, police were called to 3710 Edison Street for the report of a stabbing. Police discovered a victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper chest area and he was flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where he later died. The victim’s girlfriend, who was still on the scene, was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters for further questioning.

The deceased victim, a 21-year-old male and resident of 3710 Edison Street, has been identified as Antwone Boxley. Investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had been arguing inside the residence when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.

The exact cause of death is still under investigation and an autopsy will be conducted.

The suspect, LaKisha Smith a 22-year-old female and resident of 10212 Wild Apple Circle in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has been charged with murder. Smith is being held without bond at the Alexandria Detention Center.
