The Wachovia Bank at 3624 King Street is Robbed


The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the Wachovia Bank located at 3624 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 10:34 a.m., the suspect entered the bank carrying a black nylon bag, approached the teller counter and displayed a knife. The suspect demanded money and the employee complied. The suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen entering a 4-door blue Toyota Corolla. The vehicle left the area westbound on West Braddock Road. The nylon bag and knife were recovered in the rear parking lot behind the bank.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20-25 years old, five-feet five-inches tall, with a muscular build, thick mustache, thick wavy brown hair, brown eyes and wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts.
