City of Alexandria Announces Schedule of Services for Veterans Day
City government offices, including the administrative offices of the Alexandria Police Department, will be open on the Veterans Day holiday, Thursday, November 11. Full police patrol and emergency services will be in place during this day.
In accordance with Virginia State Law, the Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits, on Thursday, November 11. All other parking regulations will be in effect. Additionally, HOV restrictions on Route 1 and Washington Street will be lifted on Thursday, November 11.
City facilities, including libraries, museums, and recreation centers, will be open on Thursday, November 11. All regular City services, including residential trash collection, will be available on Thursday, November 11.
City schools will be closed on Thursday, November 11, and Friday, November 12.
DASH bus service will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Thursday, November 11.
However, State offices in Alexandria, including the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts, the Clerk of Court Office, and the Alexandria Health Department will be closed on Thursday, November 11.
