Alexandria Human Rights Commission to Host First Virginia Council on Human RIghts-Northern Virginia Regional Public Forum on Civil Rights
The Alexandria Human Rights Commission will host the first Commonwealth of Virginia Council on Human Rights - Northern Virginia Regional Public Forum on Civil Rights on Wednesday, September 22nd from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial (Masonic Temple), located at 101 Callahan Drive, in Alexandria.
Citizens and community and civic leaders with concerns about civil rights issues, such as fair housing, equal employment opportunity, education, civil rights legislation, crime or other civil rights issues are encouraged to attend. The forum, which is free of charge, will allow individuals to present civil rights concerns and issues to local Human Rights Commissions and the State Council on Human Rights simultaneously. In addition to responding to concerns at the local level, all comments will be presented by the Virginia Council on Human Rights to Virginia Governor James Gilmore.
