Construction Accident at 4825 Nottingham Drive on 9-3-99 at 1259 Hours
Two men were injured at the construction site of a six-story office building at 4825 Nottingham Drive Friday afternoon at 12:59 p.m. The men, both construction workers, were dismantling a section of scaffolding on the third floor when the section that was being removed fell taking the two men with it approximately twenty-five feet to the ground below.
The two injured men were flown from a landing zone set up at John Adams School to Fairfax Inova Hospital with head, chest and back injuries. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Work will cease for the day by the Turner Construction Company as Fire Department and Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators investigate the accident.
