Alexandria Police Investigate the Critical Stabbing of a City Resident


This morning, at approximately 2:26 a.m., Alexandria Police responded to the unit block of South Van Dorn Street for the report of a stabbing. Police discovered the victim, a 33-year-old female City resident, suffering from multiple lacerations to her head. The victim was flown by helicopter to the Washington Hospital Center where she remains in critical condition.

The suspect, a 29-year-old black male City resident and acquaintance of the victim, was stopped by police nearby and taken into custody. Preliminary investigation reveals that this assault may be domestic-related. Detectives are questioning the suspect at this time and no charges have been placed.
