Today, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Roy Junious Greene, Jr., a 49-year-old man and former Fairfax County resident, was charged with Capital Murder and Robbery for the homicide of Mary Jean Wilcox. Greene, arrested in Atlanta on August 3 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, waived extradition and was transported back to the City by Alexandria detectives this afternoon.

Greene was indicted by an Alexandria grand jury on April 5 for the stabbing death of Ms. Wilcox, a 44-year-old Annandale woman, at their workplace at 2853 Duke Street on June 29, 1998.

Greene is being held without bond at the Alexandria Detention Center. He is scheduled to be arraigned, via video monitor, in General District Court on Thursday, August 12.
