Foundation Supports Alexandria Youth Project with $10,000 Gift
WITH $10,000 GIFT
The Robert S. Rixse Foundation announced Tuesday its plans to contribute $10,000 to the City's new youth development effort, Community YouthMapping, sponsored by the Alexandria City Council, Youth Council and the Youth Policy Commission.
Robert S. Rixse was a lifelong Alexandrian and respected physician actively involved with youth issues. After his tragic death in 1984, a foundation was created in his memory to assist students attending college and support other activities benefiting youth in this city.
The gift will be used to fund the City's efforts to compile a database of accurate information about places to go and things to do in both the public and private sectors, for young people and their families.
Other contributors to the project are the William D. Euille Foundation and the firms of Eakin/Youngentob, Simpson Development Company and IDI Group Companies.
