Register Now for the Alexandria Walk to Fight Breast Cancer to Benefit Early Detection and Education
The fourth annual Walk to Fight Breast Cancer is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 24 at the Cameron Run Regional Park in Alexandria. The walk will help raise funds for the Alexandria Breast Cancer Fund, which provides free mammograms for Alexandria women in financial need

City Manager Vola Lawson, Senator Patsy Ticer, Mary Moran, wife of Representative Jim Moran, and Holly Nolting, President of Hoffman Management, Inc. will lead hundreds of walkers on a 1.5K, 3.5K or 5K route beginning at Cameron Run Regional Park on Eisenhower Avenue. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 8:45 a.m., rain or shine. The route can accommodate all walkers, children in strollers, and people using wheelchairs.

This year, the Walk to Fight Breast Cancer is a "Fight the Flu" site. A flu shot clinic will be held prior to and after the Walk. Cost of the shot is $15. Discount coupons will be available at the Walk and Medicare Part B coverage is available to individuals who show their Medicare cards. Call 1-877-895-5BUG for more information about the flu shot.


Registration fee for the Walk to Fight Breast Cancer is $12 for adults and $5 for children which includes a commemorative T-shirt. Walkers are asked to collect pledges for the Alexandria Breast Cancer Fund. Top pledge collectors will be eligible for prizes.
