City of Alexandria Opens Swimming Pools for the Summer
The City of Alexandria has opened six outdoor swimming pools for the
summer season. The six swimming pools consist of two large pools and four
neighborhood pools. The two large pools are Warwick Pool at 3301 Landover
Rd. and Old Town/Cameron St. Pool at 1609 Cameron St. They are open from
noon until 7:00 p.m. daily, and admission is 50 cents for 7-17 year olds,
and $1.50 for 18-59 year olds. There is no admission charge for children
six and younger, or for anyone 60 or older. Children six and under must
be accompanied by an adult.


The four neighborhood pools are: Nannie J. Lee Pool at 1108
Jefferson; Colosanto Pool at 2704 Mt. Vernon Ave.; Charles Houston Pool at
901 Wythe St.; and Ewald Pool at 4500 Duke St. These pools are for use by
Alexandria residents 14 years of age or younger, with children six and
under accompanied by an adult. They are open from noon until 6:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, and admission is free.


People using the pools will be asked to show verification of
residency (driver's license, school identification card, etc.) during
their first visit.
