Question:
What is the history of the budget for all non-ACPS accounts for the Patrick Henry Recreation Center? What elements are included in the budget for the grounds?
Response:
The renovation of Patrick Henry Recreation Center was first included in the Capital Improvement Program in FY 2004. Since that time, over the last 14 years numerous changes to the total budget and funding timing have occurred. The project funding chronology is listed in the table below.
The current Patrick Henry Recreation Center project includes a new neighborhood recreation center attached to the new Patrick Henry School, and funds twenty percent of the site work (the remaining 80% is part of the school project).
In addition to the Patrick Henry Recreation Center project,
the proposed CIP also includes the Patrick Henry Synthetic Turf Field and
Outdoor Play Features project. This project was first added to the CIP in FY
2017 and totals $2.2 million. This project’s scope includes installation of a
synthetic turf field, an expanded recreation center related playground, and an
outdoor adult fitness area.
